What is Regenerative Therapy?
Regenerative Therapy, commonly known as tissue engineering, helps restore, maintain, or improve your muscle function by using biological substitutes.
Scientists, doctors, and bioengineers are currently developing new treatments to help your damaged tissues and organs that have lost function due to aging or disease. Those researchers are discovering potential treatments for diabetes, degenerative joint conditions, cardiovascular diseases, and neurological conditions like Parkinson’s disease.
Traced back to the 1900s, the study of regenerative therapies isn’t new; the first bone marrow and organ transplants were performed decades ago. The fields of science and medicine make advancements every day in the hopes of providing innovative solutions for conditions that are beyond repair today.
How are regenerative therapies helping sports medicine?
The deterioration and injury of our musculoskeletal systems keep occurring as we partake in rigorous recreational activities and continue to live longer than the generations before us.
Regenerative therapy offers therapeutic approaches for treating injuries, deterioration, and deformities of skeletal parts like your bone and cartilage, as well as tendons and ligaments in your muscles and connective tissues. It may help injuries such as:
- Shoulder Pain
- Arthritis and Degeneration of your knee
- Tendonitis/Tendinosis of your bicep/tricep
- Golfer’s and tennis elbow
- Partial tear of your rotator cuff
- Repairing Joints
Is regenerative therapy right for you?
Rather than helping to manage your condition and minimize your symptoms, regenerative therapy targets the root of the problem. It offers treatment methods that are safe and effective. Regenerative therapy may help avoid the cost and long recovery time of treatments such as knee replacement or rotator cuff surgery.
Call Ultimate Health Medical Clinic or request an appointment online to schedule a consultation with our medical team to discuss if regenerative therapy or regenerative therapy is the right treatment plan for you.
Testimonials
Before coming to Ultimate Health, I figured I would be doomed with knee pain forever. Every other doctor told me I needed surgery, which was something I didn’t want to do at an older age. The Regenerative Therapy protocol I’ve been doing with the team at UH is a natural and effective way to allow my knee to heal itself on its own. I didn’t fully understand what regenerative therapy was or if it would work, but I am a believer now. The UH team walked me through the entire process and my knee pain is almost non-existent.

Littleton PRP Injections, Also Known As Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy
Our Littleton medical clinic is proud to offer platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy, also known as PRP injections, to our patients. Those suffering from chronic pain may be a candidate for PRP injections, which are used to provide a cushion for the joint and support relief from knee pain, shoulder pain, and more.
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) consists of plasma (the liquid portion of blood) and platelets, which are a type of blood cell that promotes healing throughout your body.
Our Nurse Practitioners will take a blood sample and place it into a device called a centrifuge that rapidly spins the sample. The machine helps separate out the other components of the blood from the platelets and then concentrates them with the plasma. The entire procedure is done right in our Littleton, Colorado medical office and usually takes around 30 minutes to an hour.
PRP Injections are an easy, in-office procedure done in our Littleton integrated medical office to help patients experiencing chronic pain. The plasma solution is injected into the target area (i.e., the knee or tendon) using ultrasound to help guide the injection for precise placement of the injection.
Many of our patients receive PRP injections during their lunch break. Since there is no downtime for PRP injections, this allows them to get right back to work, unlike a surgical procedure that may require two full weeks or more of downtime.
PRP injections are used to help naturally treat a range of conditions and injuries. If you suffer from acute or chronic pain in your knees, shoulders, hips, feet, elbows, or hands, or even osteoarthritis of the spine, call us to see how this breakthrough procedure may help your pain.
PRP injections are a surgical alternative for patients who don’t want to go under the knife. We understand that surgery isn’t for everyone, that’s why we love being able to offer this medical breakthrough treatment to give our patients options and hope for pain relief.

“We have seen a number of patients who have felt immediate relief after their first or second PRP injections,” Dr. Jason shared. “So many of our patients think living in pain is an inevitable part of their daily life as they age, and we are happy to show patients that isn’t true. We have seen so much success with PRP Injections, including helping relieve pain in the shoulders, knees, elbows, and wrists.”
As of now, PRP injections are not covered by insurance, however, Ultimate Health Medical Clinic offers in-house and third-party payment solutions for patients in need of these in-office procedures.
It’s also important to remember that most health insurance plans don’t fully cover a knee replacement or a shoulder replacement for instance. Many patients have a $5,000 or more deductible, so using insurance isn’t always in your best interest. Then add to the out-of-pocket cost weeks of sports rehab and physical therapy, and it can be a much longer, and more expensive option versus PRP Injections.
Our blood predominantly consists of plasma, which carries red and white blood cells and platelets. PRP is created by drawing some of the patient’s own blood and then using a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets within a sample of the plasma.
This concentrated sample of platelets is then combined with the original blood sample. We can then inject this platelet-rich blood into the treatment area.
While results may not occur immediately, many women experience improved sensitivity, functionality, and muscle tone while improving the performance of sexual function and bladder control. PRP injections are a form of regenerative therapy, another service we offer in our medical office.
Our medical team also offers trigger point injections for chronic and acute pain, which can be a good starting point for addressing your pain.
